The reason behind starting Gels & Glow was to get my spark back..

I have lived with ongoing chronic illness since, I was 6 years old- Being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes & finding out at the same time, I suffered from a genetic bleeding disorder. In 2020 I came close to losing my life, during an emergency c section due to significant blood loss. My beautiful daughter was then born prematurely with an autoimmune condition & the same genetic bleeding disorder. We had a complex few years navigating health challenges between both of us. Which included postnatal depression, a back injury requiring surgery & regular hospital procedures and appointments for my daughter. She was home with me until she was 3 years old, due to low immunity.

When, early 2025 hit it was absolutely devastating for me & my family- I was pregnant with our second, which I then lost at 12 weeks along due to a missed miscarriage, my nana passed away a couple months after this. Not long after all this, I finally a diagnosis's of AUDHD & PMDD after battling ongoing mental health struggles for years- I needed something to save me, other than just medication & therapy!

After all my devastation and healing, I started to struggle to enjoy my part time retail job, so I quit! I was struggling with mine & my daughters ongoing health issues, my mental health had been at it’s worst it’s been in years, I often felt completely lost being caught up in just surviving within motherhood & dealing with so much pressure on a daily basis.

Iv always had a real interest in nails & tanning! My sister is a beauty therapist and had taught me tips and tricks over the years. With some encouragement from her, my husband & my best friend Poppy, I decided to invest my spare time & our savings into a couple of beauty courses, spray tan equipment and a nail kit, I begin to refine my skills, build my confidence and develop my own business. I am also trained in early childhood education: Don’t get me wrong I love it! (which I still do around appointments at a local preschool as a reliever)

I needed to do something that I love and had a passion for; life is to short! I’m really looking forward to pushing myself further and expand my business, which will include kids pamper parties! It brings me such joy to help woman feel beautiful & confident about themselves, and lets me bring out my creativity, which is something I seem to thrive at!
